It must be contagious

Big news on Twitter this morning is that at least three foreign intel agencies have released to the U.S. incriminating information about at least one of Trump’s kids.  As one of the kids who are likely candidates (three of his five kids are), is Eric Trump, and one of the intel services is Qatar, I’m guessing…but I’m just guessing.  He’s been in the general region doing business, that’s all.

Hopefully we should find out shortly.  I’m getting tired of that feeling that I’m about to sneeze, and then I don’t.

It now seems like the IC is looking to get at Trump through his family.  In just the past week or so we’ve had the bit with his son-in-law, and now this news.  And goodness knows there been mutterings about dear precious Princess Ivanka all along, followed by the usual bluff and bluster from her supporters: “she’s a mom!”

Uh…okay.

If one or more of the elder Trump kids might be headed for the slammer, this means that outsiders like Manafort, Flynn and Giuliani are in for a really bad time, all alone with no immunity and no Daddy Trump to bomb some hapless country for them and cause a nice, big distraction.  Brings a smile to one’s face, doesn’t it.

And it’s also downright funny how it all seems to line up with the downfall of Bannon.  That could be mere coincidence; however, remember what I said about that subject: which coincidence is this?  We have so many.

Rumors and offline snark

Someone snarked at me offline that I’m so behind the times that I haven’t mentioned Paul Manafort apparently being paid millions by a Trump company or companies to go away quietly once his Russia cover was blown and he had to leave the Trump campaign, (and of course later Trump tried to deny he knew Manafort at all and there was no pushback from Manafort).  Reason: I don’t care.

They also mentioned that I said little about Syria and nothing at all (today) about the MOAB in Afghanistan.  Reason: outside of the fact that there were innocent people living in the area that was bombed, I don’t care.

And then there is the business of a freedom-of-information request being answered by the DOJ admitting…well, read it for yourself:Image may contain: text

Why haven’t I mentioned this?  Because actually Clinton won the election in spite of all this tampering, gerrymandering, voter suppression and intimidation, and Russian collusion.  She won.  And at this moment I don’t care.  That’s not to say that I won’t once Russiagate is wrapped up in history, but right now it’s just one thing too many to ponder.

Why don’t I care?  Because these are distractions.  The only real story here centers on what’s being called the “three ring circus:”  Trump, his inner circle plus his administration, and Russia.

Which brings us to the big rumor of the evening.  Mind you I am putting as much weight on this as last week’s…or was it the week before…anyway that rumor about Trump resigning.

Here’s the rumor: major arrests are coming as early as next week.  Okay, since some minor arrests have already happened, maybe that’s true.  And I’m interested enough that I’m repeating it.

In a way it seems more likely than Trump resigning; right now he seems to think he can bomb his way into keeping his presidency alive.  Before this he was trying to tweet his way into the same result.  Oh hell, he’s still trying.

And as for impeachment…that again?  What is true is that Trump is clearly out of control, (he’s even talking about closing the White House!).  But it’s also true that Congress is equally out of control, and they are completely enjoying it.

Of course, Congress really doesn’t need Trump anymore, since they got out of him what they really wanted: stealing a Supreme Court seat from the Democrats.  So if they’re seriously pushed, maybe they’ll consider it next year or something.  Meantime they’re having too much of a grand time killing off women’s healthcare and Medicare and Social Security while Trump loudly makes an ass of himself over and over, causing such deafening cacophony that they can gleefully go about their dirty work virtually unnoticed.  What fun!

I still don’t know what the end will be for Trump and his merry band of marauders.  I guess I’m just desperate enough at this point that I’ll repeat the rumor that may be behind his recent “lookee here!” bombing raids: major arrests may be coming next week.

Major arrests may be coming next week.  Repeat.  Breathe deeply.  Repeat.

P.S.  Maybe this will be one of those major arrests: Guiliani

Whine your way out of this one

Brilliant article in the U.K. newspaper The Guardian

If it hadn’t been done already, this article should finally blow up the spurious and insistent Trump defense that all this Russiagate stuff is “fake news,” and that he and his staff have been the subject of “politically motivated surveillance” (never mind why he’s worried about that if it’s all fake news).

What this article reveals is that the investigation into Russiagate started long ago, in 2015….overseas, and by accident.  As in, Trump associates chattering with Russians were a kind of collateral capture by intelligence folk in the U.K. and other parts of Europe, and even some in the former eastern bloc.

This, along with the FISA warrant(s), makes it rather difficult for Trump to keep claiming that Obama had it in for him so he tapped his phone (and you’re worried about that because…).  It also makes it difficult for Carter Page to keep trying to claim that he’s the new MLK (yes, he said this).

More importantly, it goes toward proof of collusion.  It also proves that this has been going on far longer than just since March 2016.  In fact, it’s starting to sound like Russiagate had been planned for a long time.  As in conspiracy.

The only thing that shocks me here is the reluctance of the FBI (and even the CIA, although this is not their sphere) to engage in domestic spying even after they were tipped off by foreign intelligence that something very, very odd was happening.  I thought they had been spying with impunity since the Bush II, post 9/11 era.  Silly me.  But apparently it’s true; they just don’t want to get involved when there are U.S. citizens in the spyglass…unless, of course, it’s potential treason and merits a FISA warrant (looking at you, CARTER PAGE).

Something tells me Trump didn’t get that memo either, and that he won’t stop trying to blame everything on Obama.  After all, it plays well with the silly cows who still support him.  At least he isn’t stealing Page’s line about being the new MLK…yet.  Remember that Glenn Beck did that several years ago; it seems to be some sort of brain virus that affects right wingers.  I’m waiting for Trump to succumb any day now.

But anyway, Trump, you’re now officially living in a glass cage with the whole world looking in.  I’d stop throwing stones if I were you.
